9/08/25. Get your apps in for INDIE! This young dober boy who found himself at the county shelter is doing amazing with his incredible foster and is ready for his furever home. He is truly the whole package—likes ALL dogs big and small, playful, loving, friendly with everyone he meets, great on a leash, great in a store, eager to please, and doesn’t seem to mind cats. Below is what his foster mom has to say about him. I have had Indigo for almost 6 wks now. He is now up to 73.4 lbs. His fur is thin but coming in, and he is starting to build muscle on his frame. His personality has really come out. He is very smart, has a great temperament, and is very playful and energetic. He is very dog-friendly, including small dogs, but will need someone his own size that he can play with too. He doesn’t chase them; he just wants to play. He has full range of the house now along with my 6 other dogs (3 males and 3 females). They all get along very well. I did introduce him to my pack very slowly and the last 2 males within the last 2 wks. He loves to go for walks and walks very well on the leash. I have walked with him and several of my dogs together, and he does very well. He is not reactive to other dogs, people, motorcycles, bikes, etc. on the walks. He just takes everything in stride. He was very mouthy when he first came, and that is now minimal. He is very loving and will snuggle with you on the couch or the floor, or he will snuggle with the other dogs. He has been exposed to my son’s cat a few times this week, and he didn’t try to chase him; he just kind of watched him. The cat snuck under the bed, and Indie went on and looked for a toy to play with rather than trying to get the cat. I will keep exposing him to the cat, but I don’t really see him having a high prey drive, even for lizards. He has chased them but loses interest quickly. He would rather be with the other dogs or follow me around. He knows his basic commands (sit, down, stay). He is very gentle when he takes treats and will sit and wait patiently while his meal is being prepared. I have not noticed any resource guarding with his toys, food, or chew bones. We are working on some other tricks—spin, crawl, and weaving through legs. He travels well in the car and loves to meet people. He really wants to please and is such a happy-go-lucky boy. 8/17/25. Indigo (Indie) update from his foster! He has been doing well! We are now up to about 66 lbs and his coat is looking better. He is a happy, energetic boy. We went for a walk this morning behind the Townhouse, then went to Lowe's to work on socialization and confidence building. He did great! He was a rockstar on the trail, and at Lowe's, he was amazing! He was not phased by the Halloween decorations, even if they talked or moved. He did wonderfully with the distractions of different dogs (some well-behaved and some not). Indigo just took it all in stride. He loved meeting new people and allowed them to pet him, even some children. We worked on down and stay while I looked at things. He caught on quickly. He even took a nap. He is now one tired pup... until we got home and Lily was ready to play too! I wish I had his energy. 8/5/25. Just a little update on Zeus, who is now called Indie! He’s thriving in his foster home. He did pick up some kennel cough from the shelter, but he’s on medication for that. We’re also giving him medicated baths to help with his skin. As for his weight, he was 54.7 lbs on 7/31/25 and 55.2 lbs on 8/4/25.
